Most phone timers start the clock when they tell the speaker to play. That speaker delay lands squarely in your first-shot time. Beepline takes t = 0 from the beep coming back through the microphone, and timestamps every shot from the sample index in the audio stream rather than the moment a buffer happened to arrive. Speaker or earbuds, the first-shot time is the real one.
